Life can be tough sometimes, but that doesn't give you an excuse to give up. It is those who never give up who achieve great things in life. This is something I've tried to stick to for a large part of my life, and it is what got me through some of the toughest times of my life.
Judo, and life as well, is all about adjusting your approach and overcoming. We can never get everything right, but the point is to try our best, and then, after seeing the results, adjusting ourselves a little, and then going at it again. This is what allows us to overcome ourselves and our problems. I bring this value through with me when teaching and practicing Judo.
I'm all about getting real results. This means putting in the hard work, time and dedication required to achieve your goals. There's no point in doing something if you're only going to half-heart it.
There is often a mismatch between training and competing. This isn't limited to sports. In order to truly be successful, we need to train as if it is the real thing. If you're trying to run a marathon, then you need to train in the same way - by running marathons! If you don't train for the real thing, you'll never be prepared.
I want to make a contribution to the world through Judo.
